Cliwant Closes Pre-Series A: What We Are Building with the Capital
We closed our Pre-Series A to accelerate contrl. The investment lets us double down on the product that turns RFPs into finished proposals.
TL;DR: Cliwant closed a Pre-Series A funding round to accelerate development of contrl. The capital is going directly into product: smarter RFP analysis, better template fidelity, and enterprise-grade security.
Why now
We raised because the product-market signal was clear. Proposal teams across consulting, defense, IT services, and construction told us the same thing: "We need exactly this." The Pre-Series A lets us build faster.
The round was led by investors who understand enterprise SaaS and the government contracting ecosystem. They backed us because our founder's 15 years in bidding gave them confidence we understand the problem deeply enough to build the right solution.

Where the capital goes
Three areas. First, product: making contrl's RFP analysis smarter, its template engine more robust, and its output quality closer to what a senior proposal manager would produce. Second, security: enterprise clients need on-premise deployment and zero data leakage. Third, team: hiring engineers who understand both AI and document architecture.
We are not building a generic AI tool and marketing it to proposal teams. We are building a proposal tool powered by AI. The distinction matters and the capital lets us stay focused on that.
What this means for early adopters
The closed beta opens March 30. Early adopters get direct access to the founding team, influence on the product roadmap, and the first production version of contrl at no cost during the beta period.
If you are tired of manually assembling proposals in PowerPoint and want to see what AI can actually do when it is built by people who have lived through the same bid cycles, this is your chance.
Still writing proposals the old way?
Contrl analyzes RFPs, builds win themes, and generates compliant drafts in your own PowerPoint templates. Your strategy, automated.
